Endoscopy is a medical procedure that examines the inside of your body using a medical device called an endoscope. This device has a long, thin tube with a light and video camera which captures images of the inside of your body so that they can be recorded and viewed on a screen by your physician. Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure which is used to look at the interior surfaces of organs and tissues.
At our North Georgia medical facility, we provide endoscopy services, such as:
(esophagogastroduodenoscopy or upper endoscopy) used to examine the inside of the stomach and digestive tract and take tissue samples, if necessary
A diagnostic used to diagnose diseases of the small intestine
